Yesterday we took Tatum to her 4 year well child check up. She is growing like crazy! She grew 3 inches this past year and gained 7 pounds. She is 46 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds. She is in the 86% in height. Tatum has always been in 60% - 70% in height. She had a big growth spurt this year. I am pretty sure she will be a lot taller then momma! While waiting in the lobby Tatum said she did not want to get shots. I told her that she had to for school. She said "no they are hateful". I asked what was hateful and she said the shots! I was proud of her she did very well. She cried of course but she went in and let them check her out like a big girl. My baby is growing up.
While getting ready yesterday Darius Rucker's song "It Won't Be Like This For Long" came on. I've heard it a million times and thought I was past crying when it came on. It talks about how rough nights can be with new born babies and then dropping them off at preschool a few years later and it will all pass soon. I thought back at those long sleepless nights and how quickly they did pass. I can not believe I will be dropping my little girl off at preschool in a few weeks. I am excited for her and this new adventure but sad she is growing so quickly. All you new moms enjoy every second because it goes way faster then you can ever imagine.
Tatum you are quite the little baby sitter. While cousin Eli was in town you were such a big helper for Nana. You were very good about entertaining him, getting his toys, diapers, food, sippy cup, or whatever he needed at the time. We also watched cousin Kinsley one evening for a couple of hours and you were great with her. You have a very mothering nature. You are getting to an age that you are very helpful around the house. You are good about picking up your room when I ask or the toys in the living room. You love to help cook, do the dishes and the laundry. I appreciate all the help. I am sure you will decide someday that stuff is no fun so I am trying to soak it all up and enjoy it while it lasts. I have seen you mature a lot this summer. You talk much older and act more like a little girl then a toddler. You love all animals and have such a kind heart. You love the horse Ginger and have learned to ride her all by yourself and crawl up in the saddle by yourself. You do a great job of watching out for Titus and your cousins. I think you are great example to all of them. Olivia is your best friend and you ask to see her or play with her everyday. You don't care where either at home or at her house. You and Livy play great together and get a long so well. You can play dress up and with dolls for hours. You and Titus have your brother and sister fights but that's all part of being a family it comes with the territory. You are also best of friends. The two of you play so well together most of the time. You are learning to share and take turns. Titus is still learning and you are pretty patient for the most part with him. You still love your cuddle time with Momma and Daddy. Every morning you want your milk and on one of our laps for a bit until you get all woke up. In the evenings after bath times you want to cuddle with a blanket in one of our laps. We read from your Bible, say prayers and then tell a story or talk about your day. You are such a sweet loving child. I love you so much and I am excited to watch you grow and learn this next year. It will be an experience for both of us and I am sure Mommy will cry a lot the first few times I drop you off.
Titus you are really growing. You have grown just over an inch in the last four months. You are starting to talk and communicate a ton. You are now starting to speak in full sentences and you can say just about anything you want. You give some of the best hugs I have ever had. You hug with all your might and they are so full of love. When we ask for a kiss you start puckering up from the other side of the room. You are fully potty trained now. It took you no time to get #1 down and just a few short weeks to get #2 figured out. We still put a diaper or pull up on you most nights just to be sure and about 5 out of 7 days you are dry. You have even started waking me up some nights if you need to potty. Once you decided you were ready for potty training you were easy with the entire process. Mommy and Daddy are so very proud of you. You love to be outside and play in the water. You are like a little fish when your swimming. You have no fear. We have to keep an eye on you every second. You got in one time with out your floaties and I think you learned your lesson. You are always sure they are on before you get in the pool. It was only a few seconds but it scared Momma and you. You like to jump in and off our hands. You smile and laugh the entire time. You also like your cuddle time. Every morning we sit and cuddle a bit when you wake up and every evening you like your covers and sitting on Mommy's lap before bed time. You love to pray and read the stories of Jonah and Noah's ark. Those are your two favorites at this time. I love to hear you pray and say Jesus. It is so cute. I must capture it on video soon. You can also be pretty ornery to you sister and get a pretty good temper. Sometimes when we get onto you, you cross your arms and say "Mad" while heading to your room to sit down a bit and think about what you did. When you get in trouble you are devastated and want to be consoled right then after the punishment has been dealt. You are getting better but there are times you just can't help but aggravate your sister. You also love all the new babies in the family and love having them around. You do great with the brand new ones but you weren't so sure about Mommy hold Eli. You wanted to be held too and kept saying "Look Me".You are really starting to play and interact with other kids. Your two favorite games is chase and wrestling with Daddy, Papas or uncles. You could go forever!
Every time I vacum Titus gets out his little vacum and follows right behind me.
He holds his arms out and says wub you much much (Love you this much)
When I ask Titus if he wants to do something or needs something and he doesn't want to or doesn't want it he always says "No Please" and is very good about saying thank you.
When Tatum likes something or is asking me about it she says "That's pretty cool" or "Is that pretty cool"
While at Tatum's dentist appointment she over heard the people next to us speaking in Spanish and asked quite loudly "Momma why can those people not talk right?"
While in Disney World Tatum got some pop spilled on her. She said "I am wet now and people will look at me and say huh she is wet!" She was very serious while saying this. She was not happy about getting pop on her.
Great stories! What a treasure for them to read someday when they are older. Beautifully written.
